FAQs and Comments:

 

1) We recommend using red LED bulb for nav lights with red lens, green LED bulb for nav lights with green lens, white LED bulb for nav lights with clear lens, bicolor LED bulbs (US patented, Dr. LED) for nav lights with bicolor lens, and tricolor LED bulb (US patented, Dr. LED)  for nav lights with tricolor lens.

2) We have our red, green, and white LED bulbs (our nav bulb LED engines) certified in nav lights with the corresponding colored lens for the 2nm intensity and the needed colors.

3) We do not recommend using white LED on nav lights with colored lens.

The reason being white LED emits mostly blue and yellow light (human see this as white, but not enough for 2nm for the red and green lens).  By using red LED on nav lights with red lens, only the needed red light is produced and will pass thru the red lens.  The same reason for green nav lights.  This is the best way to do this.

By the way, incandescent bulb emits a broad spectrum of light.  That is why you need to use a 25W incandescent bulb for 2nm red or green lens light but only need to use a 10W one for a clear lens.  This is no longer the best way to do nav lights.
